China Mobile Awards GPRS Expansion Deal to Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia Siemens Networks, a joint venture between Nokia of Finland and Siemens of Germany, announced on December 10 that it had signed an agreement with CMBJ (China Mobile Group Beijing), a subsidiary of China Mobile, to expand GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) core network capacity for CMBJ.

With the enhancement in GPRS core network capacity, CMBJ will be enabled to expand its range of mobile data applications available for millions of mobile users during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Value of the deal was not disclosed, though.
